Terms of service

The rules for using the ALB Equity web app and its AI connector: who it is for, what you may do with the data, and where our responsibility ends.

01

Who we are and what these terms cover

ALB Equity is provided by [Legal entity name — to be completed], registered at [Registered address — to be completed] under [Company registration and VAT number — to be completed] (“we”, “us”). These terms apply to your use of the ALB Equity website and web app at alb-equity.com and of the AI connector at https://alb-equity.com/mcp, together “the service”.

By signing in, or by connecting an AI assistant to your account, you accept these terms. If you do so for a company, you confirm that you are allowed to bind it, and “you” then includes the company. If you and we have signed a separate agreement, such as a pilot agreement, that agreement prevails over these terms where the two conflict.

02

Eligibility and professional use

The service is for professional use by investment professionals, such as asset managers, investment committees and analysts. It is not offered to consumers or to retail investors. You are responsible for complying with the laws and the regulatory duties that apply to you and to your own clients.

ALB Equity is not designed to hold client data. Please do not enter personal data of your clients or of other people in saved lists or reports; our privacy policy explains why.

03

Accounts

Accounts are by invitation only. The request-access form asks for a walkthrough; it does not create an account and does not grant access on its own.

  • Your account is personal. Do not share your credentials or let others use them.
  • Keep your credentials secure. If you think they are compromised, tell us straight away at security@alb-equity.com.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what an AI assistant you have connected does with it.

04

The AI connector and third-party assistants

The connector lets an AI assistant that you choose read ALB Equity data on your behalf. It is optional. When you connect an assistant you decide, on the consent screen, whether it can only read or can also save a new list, and you can revoke it at any time on the AI assistants page of the app.

  • AI assistants such as Claude (Anthropic) and ChatGPT (OpenAI) are third-party services. They run under their own terms and privacy policies, which you accept with them. We are not a party to those terms and are not responsible for those services.
  • Assistants can make mistakes, for example when they summarise, compare or combine results. Check anything you rely on against the app.
  • Data you let an assistant read leaves ALB Equity and is processed by that assistant. Only connect assistants you are permitted to use with the data in your account.
  • Fair use applies. We limit the rate of requests, and may refuse calls that put the service at risk.

How to set the connector up, what each permission allows and what the tools do is described at alb-equity.com/connector.

05

Licence and restrictions

While your access lasts, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the service and the model data it shows for your own internal business purposes.

You agree not to:

  • redistribute, resell, sublicense, publish or otherwise make the model data available to anyone else, in whole or in substantial part, unless we have agreed it in writing;
  • scrape, crawl or bulk-extract the service, or use automated means to access it other than through the AI connector as described and within its limits;
  • reverse-engineer the model, or try to reconstruct or derive the composite score or the inputs the engine keeps private;
  • get around access controls, rate limits or the permissions on the consent screen, or interfere with the service or other users;
  • use the service in breach of the law.

We and our licensors keep all rights in the service, the model and the model data. What you create, such as your saved lists and reports, stays yours; you allow us to store and process it to provide the service to you.

06

Research data, not investment advice

ALB Equity publishes research data: a monthly cross-sectional ranking of large-cap equities. It is not investment advice, a personal recommendation, or an offer or solicitation to buy or sell anything.
  • A decile, a score or a rank describes how a company compares with the others in the universe on one reference date. It is not a forecast, a price target, a backtest or a promise of any return. Decile 9 means the top band of the model’s ranking, not an instruction to buy.
  • The service does not trade, place orders or move money, and it does not connect to a bank or a broker.
  • You make your own investment decisions and remain responsible for them. Where an AI assistant has summarised or interpreted the data, the same applies.

07

No warranty

The service and the model data are provided “as is” and “as available”. Data is published monthly, is a snapshot of one reference date, and can contain errors or omissions. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that the service will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose.

08

Availability and changes to the service

We may maintain, update or change the service, including the connector’s tools and permissions, the monthly releases and the way an assistant can reach us. Where a change affects you materially we will tell you in advance when we reasonably can. A listing of the connector in a third party’s directory can be changed or removed by that party or by us without notice.

09

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time: revoke your assistants on the AI assistants page and, if you want the account closed, write to privacy@alb-equity.com.

We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if we have to for security or legal reasons, or if your invitation or the agreement behind it ends. We will explain why when we can. When access ends, the licence in section 5 ends with it, and the clauses that by their nature should continue, such as ownership, liability and governing law, do.

10

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for wilful misconduct.

Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit, revenue or opportunity, or for any trading or investment loss, including loss that results from relying on model data or on what an AI assistant has said about it. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service in any period of 12 months is limited to the amount you or your organisation paid us for the service in that period.

11

Privacy

How we handle personal data, including what the AI connector receives and logs, is set out in our privacy policy.

12

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. For a material change we will give notice in the app or by e-mail before it applies, and if you keep using the service afterwards you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the service and revoke your connected assistants.

13

Governing law and courts

These terms, and any dispute about them or the service, are governed by [Governing law — to be completed]. The courts of [Courts with jurisdiction — to be completed] have jurisdiction, subject to any rule of mandatory law that gives you the right to go to a different court.
